Retrieve
I have been training Retrievers along with other breeds for 17 years now. I have worked with some of the best in the retriever world to gain knowledge and experience and am very fortunate to have had these opportunities.
I am also a hunter and sportsman that enjoys the fruits of my labor a fine retriever. Every dog is treated as if it is part of the family and gets personalized attention.

I recommend leaving your dog for a minimum of three months of training. Depending on what has been done with the dog. Often times I get dogs in that have had very little development in retrieving and it takes a little longer before we can start formal training.
I do recommend if you have a young dog and have an idea that you are going to want some training to meet with me for a few training lessons when your dog is young so we can get them on the right track before they come in for formal training.
We limit our Gundog program to ten dogs. I believe in producing quality not quantity. We assure you and your dog get plenty of one on one time.

Gundog Training
The first month of Training your dog will learn similar commands we would teach our obedience dogs on lead.
Here: Come to you when called
Place: To to place board or bed
Heel: Walk at your left side at your pace (on and off Leash)
Off: Don't Jump up
Kennel: Get into Dog Run, Car or Crate
Sit, Down & Stay
We also throw marks and keep developing retrieving desire land and water.
Second Month of Training
We Continue with the training that they have learned in the first month of training but working off lead. In addition your dog will be learning a few other things.
Conditioned Retrieve
This teaches your dog hold, Fetch and deliver to hand bumpers and birds.
Collar Conditioning
We enforce already known commands with the E-Collar.
Sit on Whistle
Marks
We Continue throwing marks on Land and Water and start steading your dog up on a short lead.
Third Month
Single marks with birds on Land and Water.
Shorebreaking
Teaching your dog to quarter and shooting bird over the dog. Sit to Flush.
Three Hand Casting
The beginning of learning casts
Left and right hand overs and left and right hand backs
At this point your dog will be doing single retrieves on land and water. Will sit and be steady. Retrieve birds and bumpers to hand. Will retrieve from a remote location such as a place board. Sit on a whistle blast. Quarter for bird and hunt dead.
I do recommend the three months minimum training for a good obedient working dog.
Advanced Retriever Training
These dogs have already been through our three month training program
This is for the hunter who wants a dog to do blind retrieves. Retrieve birds that the dog has not seen fall. Often times bird that you can't get to. It is nice to be able to have a handling dog that does blinds. It saves you often times from walking out and retrieving birds your dog didn't see.
